About the Role
- An Agro-Processing Plant is seeking a hands-on and experienced Maintenance Executive (Mechanical) to support the efficient operation of their soya processing plant.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, maintenance, and continuous operation of plant machinery and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment within the plant.
- Conduct routine inspectionsand promptly repair faulty machinery to minimize production downtime.
- Assist with the installation, testing, and commissioningof new machines and equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical and process-related issueson production lines.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and equipment performance records.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with plant safety standards and SOPs.
- Conduct machine safety inspectionsand guide operators on proper machine handling.
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment efficiency, reliability, and lifespan.
- Supervise junior technicians and coordinate with contractors when necessary.
- Prepare weekly and monthly maintenance reportsfor the Head of Department.
- Participate in maintenance meetings and contribute to operational improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum qualification: OND in Mechanical Engineering or related field (HND/BSc will be an added advantage).
- Experience: 3–5 years of hands-on maintenance experience in an agro-industrial plant, preferably soya processing, oil milling, or grain processing.
Technical Skills:
Candidates must have practical experience working with the following equipment:
- Pumps, conveyors, and motors
- Expellers and extruders
- Crackers and hammer mills
- Destoners, drum sieves, and separators
- Preventive maintenance systems and mechanical troubleshooting.
Competencies:
- Strong hands-on technical abilityand mechanical aptitude
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- High attention to detail with focus on reducing machine downtime
- Good communication and reporting skills.
